Mark Rigney is the author of Deaf Side Story: Deaf Sharks, Hearing Jets and a Classic American Musical (Gallaudet University Press, 2003). His short fiction has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and appears in venues such as the Best of the Bellevue Literary Review, All Hallows, Black Gate, Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, and the anthologies Traps andShadow Regions. His novel, In the Wink of a Stone God's Eye, won the 2009 First Coast Novel Contest.Other writing projects have earned grants from the Indiana Arts Council and the Vogelstein Foundation. His full-length play Nightjars was featured in the 2009 Y.E.S. Festival (April 2009). Other plays have also won national contests (the Maxim Mazumdar New Play Competition and the Panowski Playwriting Award) and have been performed (as the song says) from sea to shining seA. Venues include the Ark Theatre (Los Angeles, CA), the Utah Shakespearean Festival (Cedar City, UT), the Forest Roberts Theatre (Marquette, MI), and the Foothill Theatre Company (Nevada City, CA), with upcoming work through the Audacity Theatre Lab (Austin, TX). Synopsis:
A storm-tossed swirl of a play,Acts of God tracks twelve high-school students through the year following a devastating tornado strike. As the students grieve, assist in the recovery efforts, and tackle the basics of getting on with life, they must also cope with the storm's emotional detritus. Friendships and allegiances shift, beliefs and faith are tested, and the threat of a new storm forces each character to relive the once-in-a-lifetime terror they thought they'd put behind them. . .

Bears

Synopsis:
