Caroline Reid was born in Wales, she began writing for the Theatre at Curtin University, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992. Since then she has been commissioned to write plays for a number of professional Theatre companies and community Arts organisations. She has tackled themes which are richly relevant, contemporary, and challenging - including youth suicide (in Prayer to an Iron God), living with mental illness in Hysteria, youth drug and alcohol abuse in Grip, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Prayer to an Iron God
Set in a small isolated outback town, this moving and gutsy play is a confronting look at the impact of a young man's suicide on the lives of the family and friends that are left behind. the work was developed over two years with the Mosman Park Arts Foundation along with collaboration from health professionals to help address the issue of youth suicide in Australia.
