| Synopsis: | The city of Bastion lies devastated by the ongoing "Decade War". The once-proud city's wasted boulevards still echo to a seemingly never-ending bombardment of shell and rocket fire, its alleyways fought over hand-to-hand by both enemy and inhabitants alike as they struggle for food and shelter. Among the twisted girders and rubble of what had been the city's mental asylum a group of survivors struggle to make sense of things in the deep cellars of what was once their prison. Each has found their own way to deal with the horrors that are now part of their daily lives. . .Former cabaret artist Lynn remembers her lost love Leon, who disappeared for singing the wrong songs...Otto tries to catch rainwater and rats. . .Delphi, a prostitute, abused and beaten by too many tricks, sells sexual favours for the chance of escape... Gregory, the Travelling Man gathers junk and information and remembers the child-like Alicia, a former inmate of the institute. . .Meanwhile, a soldier weeps for the horrors he has seen and might see again. Cora watches him and imagines a past because she can't imagine any future. And poor, damaged Alicia looks to the moon for salvation in make-believe. . .A group of seemingly ordinary people facing an extraordinary situation. Together they experience love and laughter, triumph and betrayal. And there's redemption. . .at least for some of them. | |||||
