Synopsis:

An especially timely dramatic expression of the problems of minorities in search of the "good life." "Not only is [SEVEN TIMES MONDAY] a truthful and believable play, but it is consistently interesting and commands the respect of its audience. It is a humane and endearing work." -Women's Wear Daily. "SEVEN TIMES MONDAY is a perceptive drama of dignity, warmth and honesty&This is a play that has few false heroics and is further embellished by the author's keen eye and ear for human behavior and expression." -NY Herald-Tribune. A compelling drama which tells, with humanity and humor, how "big" most "little" people really are. The play deals with the problems of a factory worker who dreams of becoming a "cop," of replacing the drudgery of the machine shop with the thrill of riding along on a motorcycle. But there are family responsibilities to meet, and the problems of prejudice to be dealt with-which they are, in a most heart-warming and honest way. This is an uniquely "untyped" drama for, as the author points out: "SEVEN TIMES MONDAY has been performed as a play in which the hero and his family were either Jewish, Anglo-Saxon or Negro. These various productions were done without changing the play, the other characters or any of its lines." The universal appeal of its theme and the unerring honesty of its characterizations make this play a warm and wonderful experience in the theatre.
