christopher oscar pena is a playwright from California currently living/working in New York City. His plays include one of us (2005 Corwin Award), 5 letter word or how orpheus became learned, mnemonic, point of reference, how should i address you?, icarus burns, . . .and the rain. . . and the rain. . . and the rain.., and the collaborative piece X+Y=Z. and he made his LA debut with the co-authored Shifting Sands: The Desserted Tales for Qualia Productions. He has developed work at the Public Theater, NYU Graduate Acting, INTAR, and the UCSB Summer Theatre Lab. Current projects include the musical (e)vaporate: a screwed up reinvention of orpheus & eurydice in the form of a made up love song and the play maelstrom. Christopher is also a resident playwright with LA's Push-To-Talk Theater and a member of INTAR's writers lab. He has studied with Naomi Iizuka, Lisa D' Amour, Marsha Norman, Itamar Moses, Luis Alfaro, Eduardo Machado, Anne Garcia-Romero, Oskar Eustis, and Rinne Groff, among others. He received his BA in Dramatic Arts from UC Santa Barbara and holds an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts
