Gordon Pask, cybernetician, born Derby, 28 June 1928; educated at Rydal School and Downing College Cambridge; MA (Cantab) 1954; PhD (Lond) 1964; DSc (OU) 1974; ScD (Cantab) 1995; FRSS, FBPsS, FBCS, FNYAcS; Past President (1974) of the Society for General Systems Research; married Elizabeth Poole 1956 (two daughters, Amanda and Hermione, one grandson, Nicholas); died London Clinic 28 March 1996.

Proper Place For Dukes, The

Synopsis:
The Irish McFath is the foreign minster to an imaginary country. Includes an embassy party. They are all people really living in a bed sitter in London and they have this strange transfer and the daughter of the duke wants to go back to life, `I want to go back with Jimmy', and she is the same girl as the girl in the bed-sitter and he is the same boy'. Last line by duchess, `At last you've fallen in love and reality has crept in', and the whole scene disappears except for the two modern young people.
