Synopsis: | This is a theatre piece that explores the four interwoven journeys of some of history's most fascinating, misunderstood, and forgotten figures-the archetypal hero who dreams of the 21st century and who must come face to face with the power of his shadow; etienne-Gaspard Robert, 18th century Belgian illusionist and developer of Phantasmagoria; Johann Kaspar Lavater, 18th century Swiss pastor and leader of physiognomy; and Mary Stilwell Edison, Thomas Edison's 16-year-old first wife. Conceived by director Matthew Ozawa, Bound Shadow is an interdisciplinary collaboration told through the synthesis of theater, dance, music, video and photography. | |||||
