| Synopsis: | Described as a dark comedy about a man's relentless quest for fame, the show has the following synopsis (per the production): "Every good news story needs a good storyteller, but as Augustine Early's headlines become fueled by vengeance and self-interest, secrets hold no sanctuary and a good story always prevails, regardless of the cost." nytheatre.com | |||||

| Synopsis: | On the renovation of a house for an English couple in a small Irish town we see the tensions build among the natives as old jealousies, bigotry and racism surface regarding outsiders settling in their town. But nothing prepares them for their new fellow employee, a black African refugee. What happens when your identity is dependent upon your property. It is the second play in the Baile Cycle. I was at mass one day, in the back as usual, watching the congregation, looking for old girlfriends when a four year old black kid started playing beside me, then a four year old white kid joined him. It looked like they were about to have a little fun when suddenly the white kid without provocation just hit the black kid twice in the head and walked away. Their fathers stepped in, pulled their boys to their sides not a word mentioned, and mass continued. | |||||

| Synopsis: | A recent Irish immigrant, Brendan now calls America home. He misses his family but works hard to fit into his adopted country and find love and meaning in his new life. But his "two pints Wednesday" lifestyle goes topsy-turvy when he receives a letter from home. Suddenly, the ghost of his mother starts following him around. Of course, she has plenty to say about his friends, his shameful lifestyle and how worried she is about him learning to drive on the other side of the road. This is a funny, evocative and wonderfully touching play about love, loss and coming to terms with leaving the past behind you. | |||||

| Notes: | A Boston Globe top ten play of the year 2004. part of the Baile trilogy | |||||
| Synopsis: | The play is a love story of two who could only be together, where the sexual transgressions they have inflicted upon each other in the past and continue to so in the present haunt them, and yet keep them together. It is a macaronic style. A jumbling up of both the Irish and English vernacular with classical Irish allusions and various narrators telling a familiar tale. As such it allows me to incorporate a cubist perspective which in my mind allows for the blending of truth with falsehoods and accordingly makes the audience find their own answers which in turn makes them responsible and more complicit with the characters motivations. | |||||

| Synopsis: | Is the first play in the Baile Cycle. It deals with the church abuse scandal in Ireland. Based in a bar and eking out every Irish stereotype I could find in character and action I put an all male cast through a melodramatic plot line. The reason the play works so well is because it is true. And the more recognisable the characters are the more the audience associates with them, accordingly the more they are moved to explain how they and not just the church could let this happen. The fact that the abuse occurred is scandalous but the fact that it was known to be occurring but referred to as a rumour rather than a truth was a way that society diminished it's responsibility and sense of duty. | |||||
