Pump Boys and Dinettes

Pump Boys and Dinettes
You might not trust your faulty transmission to L.M. and the Pump Boys but you're sure to enjoy their high-octane music. they are joined by Prudie and Rhetta Cupp who run the Double Cupp Diner next door. It's a slow day on Highway 57 but they have no trouble amusing themselves--and you!--in an evening of down-home charm and exuberant music. When the inevitable Closing Time comes along, you'll wish you could stay longer. "It doesn't merely celebrate the value of friendship and life's simple pleasures, it embodies them" raved the New York Times. the New York Daily News said simply "(It's) a gasser." A previous production at OCT in 1989 left audiences cheering. the pump boys sell high octane gas on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country, and the dinettes, Pruddie and Rhetta Cup, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country-pop songs that received unanimous raves on and off Broadway.
