Abelard And Heloise

Synopsis:
The famous love story of Abelard, the renowned teacher who fell in love with Heloise, a girl half his age, had a child by her, married her, was cruelly punished and was eventually received into the Church, is told in flashback. Throughout looms the presence of the Church, the monasteries and convents of twelfth-century France, with the monks and nuns who watch and silently comment on the action.

Synopsis:
Stella's divorce has just been finalised. Her daughter is coming over from Paris and Stella is worried about how Dinah will take it. But she accepts it. Stella plans to marry Henry an oil millionaire. On Dinah's birthday both her father - Roger and Henry turn up with expensive presents for her. Stella and Roger realise that they are still in love and plan to run away to Gretna Green. Realising the family will be loosing the oil millions Dinah tells Henry about the plan in the hopes of thwarting it.

Murder From Memory

Synopsis:
A train gets stuck in a snow drift and the six passengers take refuge in a nearby house. As the train guard is leaving to join them he discovers a seventh passenger - murdered. At the house they discover that there had been a murder there twenty years previously. One of the passengers is from the Royal Psychical Society and he suggests a seance to find out just what happened all those years ago

Waiting For Gillian

James and Jill Bule's cleaning lady has just lost her husband in a hit and run accident. James a newly appointed J.P. suspects local playboy William Bule is responsible. Before he can have Bule arrested Jill confesses that she was driving the car and that she has been having an affair. James decides that the scandal of a J. P.'s wife going to prison will be too much. He decides to do nothing about the matter as long as Jill stops seeing Bule. But she does not. James orders her out of their home. After living for a time with Bule she decides that it was a mistake - confesses her guilt and is sent to prison.
