Kafka Series, The

Synopsis:
the Kafka Series is a double bill of writer-director Rene Migliaccio's new adaptations of the classic Franz Kafka novels the Trial and the Metamorphosis. the press release describes each play as follows: "the Trial tells the story of one man's unfortunate encounter with an irrational, all-powerful judicial system. Migliaccio's world-premiere adaptation of the Trial, set in the wake of 9/11, explores how a democratic society blindly assigns guilt or innocence to select people on the basis of their race. the Metamorphosis tells the story of Gregor Samsa, who awakens one morning to discover that overnight he has been transformed into an insect. As life continues around him, Samsa struggles to find his place in a world where he feels isolated and helpless."
