Synopsis: | Beating Time is a two-act, two-handed play about a famous symphonic conductor, Sidney Kleinmann, and his attempts to finally come to terms, in mid-life, with being the son of Hitler`s favourite musician. There are plenty of comic moments, two plot twists, and an upbeat ending; however it is basically a serious play. The actress is required in turn to play his failed-soprano mother Lise, his lover Teresa, and a psychiatric nurse. One simple set and several costumes are required. | |||||
