Johann McIntyre's writing experience ranges from three rounds of script development from the Australian Film Commission for THE DAM, a screenplay version of her original play; to working with Arnold Zable and Ramez Tabit on the play KAN YAMA KAN which covered the experiences of asylum seekers just out of detention. Her second full-length play THE TICKING MEN was commissioned by Playbox, and she also received a special commendation prize from the Wal Cherry Play of the Year Award for THE DAM in 1995

Synopsis:
In a world of secrets and lies, Florence must grow from sheltered girl to mature young woman. Forbidden to go near the dam on her parent's property or the boy next door, Florence discovers that, while forbidden fruit may be tasty, what lies beneath the dam's muddy bottom will change her life forever.

Muslim Sinner, The

Synopsis:
When Abdou, a Muslim farmer from the Middle East, meets Julia and Michael, a married couple who are both pentecostal Christian pastors, their lives are changed forever. Both Abdou and Julia's long held beliefs and values are challenged by the complexity of their relationship as they struggle to make their love possible in the face of vast cultural and religious differences.
