Synopsis: | Inspired by the poetry of Seamus Heaney. Bog People is a haunting, evocative sequence of stories about love, violence, mystery and memory. Linked by landscape, the stories are set on a particularly significant piece of Bogland over several different time periods, and the audience becomes detective, piecing together the fragments of the past. Don't miss this unique theatrical experience bringing together Big Telly's reputation for dynamic, contemporary Irish Classics.http://www.arts-archive.com/index.php?pg=12&action=work&genre=P&gname=Play&wid=S585341298

Beth, Bess, and 90 other children boarded the S.S. City of Benares in the spring of 1940 and embarked on a trip that changed their lives forever. Two actresses portray the girls, their families, and friends on a simple set that strikingly frames each event: from quiet kitchen conversations to playful sibling squabbles to a horrifying torpedo attack amidst the dark, unnerving silence of the icy Atlantic

Who will take on his curse? His only surviving relative? Or a stranger in the depths of despair? Or an innocent child raised on a desert island with no knowledge of the world? Or the clowns compelled to play out this extraordinary tale of temptation, desire and cannibalism who may well have bitten off more than they can chew...Comic surrealism meets shock horror in this series of ridiculous situations where innocent eccentrics struggle to survive. A random playground of the bizarre inspired by Saw, Psycho, Tim Burton and Fawlty Towers using projection, animation and squeaky toys. Notes: | from novel by S R Harris
Synopsis: | When is a sheep not a sheep? this is the eternal question one bright-eyed piece of Highland fleece asks herself in Nicola McCartney's adaptation of SR Harris's chil-dren's tale, brought to life in Andrew Panton's irreverent production. Stuck in a bed-and-breakfast, until she gives herself the tasty name of the island she lives on, not quite black sheep Skye hasn't much of a clue who or what she is. So, just like any other restless youth in the throes of an identity crisis, she hitches a ride into the big wide world. Here she sells her wares on the back of some tourist tartan tat flogged on the cheap on Blackpool prom, and meets a very woolly guru before finding her way back home to Jacob. Never before has a sheep appeared to act in such an individual fashion. And with eyelashes not seen since the late American ventriloquist Shari Lewis brought her own snow white sock, Lamb Chop, to life, Skye is a force of nature and some considerable charm. Cut away the cuteness, and McCartney, Panton and a cast led by Allie Cohen, who also designed, built and operates the puppets, is a plain old existential quest.
