Jeffrey Mayhew has had a wide ranging musical and theatrical career in every sense. He has designed and directed well over 200 youth and community performances from devised pieces to grand opera in venues ranging from village halls to the Cottesloe. Musical theatre has included Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes and West Side Story. He has taught widely, running the theatre at Christ's Hospital, and also in locations as disparate as remote settlements in the Finnish archipelago and closed institutions in Romania where he also trained the first cohort of drama teachers. He directed and acted in Garner's Cyril's Little Moments of Weakness and Strength to considerable critical acclaim; the British Theatre Guide placing it in the top five of its five star reviews that Edinburgh season. He has recently been very busy as a character actor (Malvolio, Peter Quince and Bashmakin for Practical Productions, Clifford Broughton for Theatre of the Damned) and returned this year to the sell out revival of The Great Gatsby at Wilton's Music Hall where he devised and lead the immersive element and was repetiteur for the a capella singing. For Theatre of the Damned he scored and musically directed the recent sell out The Horror! The Horror! and The Final Curtain also at Wilton's and Edinburgh and has recently directed the critically acclaimed production of The Ghost Hunter (London, Edinburgh and UK Tour.) His music has been widely played, broadcast, recorded and published and set for exams both by the ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall.

Cinema In South Georgia, A

Synopsis:
An exciting, new piece of ensemble theatre written by Jeffrey Mayhew (Swift, Bright is the Ring of Words,) and Susan Wilson (daughter of whaler William Watt). Based entirely on first-hand accounts they bring to life the experiences; bitter, hilarious, rueful and heart-warming, of some of the last men to follow the millennia-old tradition of hunting the whale. It is a celebration, in words and song, of four Eyemouth men, who, at differing points in their lives, in different ways and with differing attitudes and outcomes risked their lives among the Antarctic ice floes.

Cooking With Puccini

Synopsis:
the celebrated composer is taken from whatever limbo he inhabits and finds himself on a modern day chat show. This show looks at the lives of the famous and invites them to share their favourite recipes with the studio audience. During the process the man, his life, loves and music come under scrutiny. Fame, creativity and moral responsibility are all considered through the medium of high comedy as the wisecracking, womanizing Puccini confronts his own persona.

Swift

Synopsis:
In this piece he is at last alone and facing the abyss, in constant fear of the madness that will soon overwhelm him. His own life and his Gulliver alter ego become enmeshed as events unfold and intertwine with the contents of his Will, for it is set on the day when this was, indeed, completed. Deeply acerbic, truculent but very, very funny Swift could be thought of as the perfect dinner party guest provided you could be sure he was on his best behaviour. For this show you join him when he is absolutely, definitely not on his best behaviour - and all the more entertaining.
