| Synopsis: | There Will Be Snacks explodes the language of self-help literature and corporate team building/leadership workshops to explore our everyday interactions with myth and gnostic ritual. Two men, devoted to repeated explorations of Alan Turing's tests for computer intelligence, find themselves in crisis with each other and their work and must embark on a techno-theatre adventure to find a rare productivity seminar in the depths of the forest. Stops along the way include: epic video game battle re-enactments, the final rematch between Gary Kasparov and Deep Blue, a surreal visitation from pop-rockers Nickelback, a song and dance led by the ghost of a horse, and other ways to find one's identity. Three Sciences is a theatre group in New York City dedicated to crafting original performance pieces. Fusing diverse elements of music, dance, and electronic media, the company strives to embrace and share their curiosity for steeping the digital in the past and bringing old archetypes into the present. Three Sciences presents techno-cultural artifacts as primitive or bizarre in ways that yield loud and unpredictable museums. - press release | |||||
