Synopsis: | Keeping it together when disaster strikes isn't easy. The quartet thrown together by a flood of biblical proportions in this new work survive via a variety of self-protective strategies. Order is the key for the prim-and-proper mother figure, who walls herself in with a neatly structured array of empty tin cans. water bottles and blind faith in suburban mores that reveal the neuroses behind the smile. A little girl is dazzled by the stories told to her by one of the men, who looks to the stars for comfort. The father figure, meanwhile, has constructed a vacuum-packed world that he'd happily stay in for ever, if only the last of the canned rations hadn't just been wolfed down. | |||||
