Edward J Moore     Sea Horse, The
Company
Synopsis:

Gertrude Blum has donned an armor-like exterior that shields her from herself and from all men, whom she violently distrusts. She has hidden herself within a body gone to fat and become self-sufficient and afraid to allow herself a deep relationship with another human being. Harry Bales, a boisterous, romantic, compassionate merchant seaman between trips, has finally determined to make a home and establish his own business, and he has found himself in love and eager to marry - Gertrude. His wooing of this formidable and suspicious woman makes a lusty, amusing touching and dramatic play of great power and affirmation. This play ultimately speaks to the spirit and celebrates the strength of human devotion and constancy.
