Synopsis: | Adapted from an award-winning book, The Doorbells of Florence is a performance of raw storytelling at its very best. A collection of photographs of real doorbells in Florence. Stories of failed detectives and fated love, chance encounters and a secret beneath the floorboards. Two unnamed storytellers take you on a journey through a strange and mystical Italian city not unlike our own. Step through the doorway and discover new worlds. Wandering around Florence one day Andrew Losowsky started to take pictures of doorbells. He put the images on photo site Flicker, each one accompanied with a short story detailing the life of the supposed inhabitant. This started the craze for 'Fliction' and went on to win the inaugural Blooker award for best online fiction in 2007. Now receiving its first professional publication by Chronicle Books the stories are being put on stage by award winning director Tom Wright | |||||
