Synopsis: | Lily of the Conservative Ladies, written in 1963, is a newly discovered play by Michael Locascio, who wrote the first original play performed at La MaMa. It was discovered by director Mari Gorman as she was hunting for plays for her newly formed company, Glass Beads Theatre Ensemble. The play is a 1950s noir suspense drama with comic overtones about a murder involving a young woman controlled by her past. After his work was presented at La MaMa, and while recovering from the breakup of his marriage, Locascio wrote the play and then repaired to Mexico, where he co-produced, directed, or acted in over 35 productions. But Lily was never produced | |||||
