Gogo Fish: The Fossil That Changed the World

Synopsis:
Imagine a time when fish began a gradual move to dry land. Gogo Fish: The Fossil That Changed the World recreates the world of the Placoderms water-borne, armour-plated evolutionary ancestors of humans that lived in the Kimberley 375 million years ago. The play takes you there with a time-travelling fish club. When you arrive in our prehistoric past, something amazing is happening to the Kimberley swamp fish. They are developing the bone structures of arms and legs. But . . . will the Placoderms realise that to be a fish out of water is progress? Gogo Fish is a Western Australian story with international significance, a comedy based on scientific fact.

What happens to the male praying mantis in his post coital doom? How does the dung-house caterpillar live with its awful stench? And how does the Screaming Budgett's Frog feel about looking like a turd left at the side of a waterhole? Some animals lend themselves perfectly to extreme comic personas. In Nature as Explained by Theatre, these natural wonders are revealed for the first ever time on stage. See interpretive scenes on Emperor Penguins, the naked Mole Rat and the Illuminated Net Devil.
