Notes: | adapted from the life and work of author Louis-Ferdinand Celine
Synopsis: | Journey to the Center of the Night is adapted from the life and best-known novel of the 20th-century existentialist author, Louis-Ferdinand Celine, a revered and controversial writer who suffered enmity and rejection for his political beliefs during World War II. The production intersects the story of its author Celine with that of his antihero Ferdinand Bardamu during the First World War and its aftermath. His later dubiously motivated actions, however, may have erased this hard won artistic title and closed the history books on one of this century's greatest literary gems.
