Notes:

No real properties should be used in this piece. The handling of any prop called for in the script (such as the gift box, the t.v. remote, the wine glass, and especially the yo-yo) should be mimed. In this manner, the audience is free to let their imagination be dazzled by the brilliance of GERTRUDE's artistic display.

Synopsis:

Gertrude stops by Amy's (Gertrude's daughter's) home to drop off a gift for Katelin (Gertrude's granddaughter/ Amy's daughter.) The gift is a yo-yo: "Something to keep her life on track. Reliable, yet small enough to fit in the palm of her hand." During the resulting interaction between Gertrude and Amy, life lessons are learned, and relationships are re-examined.
