Biography of Wayne Lemon

Wayne Lemon's debut stage play, Jesus Hates Me, had its most recent production, Spring, 2010, as the South Coast Repertory Theater presented the Chance Theater of Anaheim's previous staging from Winter, 2009. The play received its world premiere at the Denver Center Theatre Company's inaugural Colorado New Play Summit - Winter, 2006. Other productions include Kitchen Dog Theater in Dallas and Emigrant Theater of Minneapolis. The play was a featured reading at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Horizon Theatre Company's 2006 New South PlayWorks Festival, Hartford Stage's 2005 Brand:NEW Fall Festival of New Works and the 2005 Southern Writers' Project at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Lemon began his career as a music and theater critic for the Austin Chronicle while attending film school at the University of Texas where he earned a Masters Degree in Film Production with a minor in Shakespeare. He remains convinced Jesus only mildly dislikes him.
