| Synopsis: | BAM presents the New York premiere of choreographer and conceptual artist Ralph Lemon's latest work, How Can You Stay in the House All Day and Not Go Anywhere? Co-commissioned by BAM for the 2010 Next Wave Festival, this multimedia dance piece explores the themes of human connection, loss, and the elusive but ever-compelling possibility of grace. Inspired by Lemon's creative relationship with Walter Carter, a Mississippi Delta native born at the turn of the century, and Russian avant-garde filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky's 1972 film Solaris, this four-part project consists of live performance, film, and visual art.
