Synopsis: | Birth of Beats : Murder and the Beat Generation is the story of Jack Kerouac Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs finding each other. Its about passion for art and life, love and death. These three iconic writers were introduced by the enigmatic and enchanting Lucien Carr. They follow him to the edge of sanity& and watch him fall off. In a time when homosexuality was mostly a clinical term, confusion and fear ruled the heart. A man was murdered. A literary movement was born.Director Andy Hadaway (tiny black hearts productions) brings his signature surreal minimalist design to set the tone. The main characters step out the nostalgia of a black and white photograph only to be stained by the brilliant colors of the choices they cannot take back. A series of ghosts punctuate the cast acting as both set pieces and colorful auxiliary characters. Aaron Lathams (Urban Cowboy, Perfect, Pogo & Evie) script tells the story as series of short flashes that feel more like a memory than a straight narrative

Synopsis: | The story is set in modern times, but was created around the legend of Amede Ardoin, a famous accordion player who was lynched in 1941. "My script has a Romeo-and-Juliet plot," Latham says. "At heart, it's a story about forbidden love, about the relationship between a young black man in a zydeco band and a young white woman in a Cajun band."
