Synopsis:
Dr Elizabeth Payling has been trying to bring about some social engineering in the slum district where she works. She has encouraged several young women to better themselves. One, Pauline, studies to the point of exhaustion, regrets the advances of a young man - because a career must come first and then tries to kill herself when she thinks that she has failed her exams.
