Synopsis: The time is 1935. The place, Clayton, South Carolina, a small town where bigotry of class and race is routine. Based on a true story, it follows the street girl SWEETIE and a group of orphaned teenagers as they make their home with the young REVEREND DAN who molds them into a church band. But when Dan's Congregation turns his orphans into outcasts, the big dreaming Reverend leaves his congregation and takes Sweetie and his rag tag Orphanage Band on the road. A dramatic musical, Sweetie is the story of a young woman's struggle between love and loyalty and a man's heroic deeds brought down by his passions.
