Bryony Kimmings is a solo live artist based in London and Cambridge. She creates full-length performance work, cabaret acts, one-to-one experiences, audio art, homemade music and spoken word. Her work is larger than life, colourful, haphazard, loud, often dangerous, somewhat unpredictable but above all fun. She is inspired by the taboos and anomalies of British culture and her work promotes the airing of her own dirty laundry to oil conversations on seemingly difficult subjects.

Synopsis: | 7 Day Drunk, is an investigation into the relationship between alcohol and creativity and the well documented historical association between artists and mood altering substances. To test this Bryony will undergo a seven day experiment, designed by a clinical psychologist, a doctor and team of American IT experts, in which she will measure her creative output against different blood alcohol levels. The seven day period will be set up to function like a normal studio week; it will be an intense period of creating work: song, dance, poetry, acts and text inspired by the subject itself; alcohol and its affects on creativity. Bryony will be maintained in a variety of alcohol-induced states by the team and as much as possible continue her creative week as normal. Her artistic output will then be tested and measured in the ways in which the team have devised. | |||||
