Synopsis: Tom Truman, a young go-getter with an MBA, comes to New York to enter the world of big business. The day he arrives at at Big Bank, Inc., Tom's department head, Jack Drexel, and his assistant, Diane Hutton, find out there's an accounting discrepancy in the quarterly report. They've been scamming the company out of millions of dollars, and it's all going to come crashing down. So they hatch a scheme to backdate Tom's employment records and blame the whole thing on him. They enlist working mother Stacy DeLora, an office temp and wannabe actress to "babysit" Tom. Stacy has her own problems finding babysitters for her real kids, Marcy and Brandon, and taking care of her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Des Dooley, a laid-back jazz saxophonist. Tom, meanwhile begins to discover that something's wrong, but has fallen in love with Diane and doesn't realize she's behind it. He devises a plan to hide the discrepancy to protect her, only to learn the cold, hard truth. Then, just when everything seems hopeless, Diane's former mentor, Joe Germaine, now a gentle homeless man with a psychiatric disorder, comes to the rescue and sets everything right. (Or does he?)
