Synopsis:
Living room of modest home on the West Coast during Second World War, housing a mother and her two grown daughters. The elder daughter's husband has been killed in the war and this is the night that the husband of the younger daughter is being flown home on leave. As the three women prepare to leave for the airport to greet him, there is some sort of mistaken mixup between the local radio station and the tower at the airport, and the talk between it and the incoming plane is broadcast. The plane gets into severe trouble mechanically and, while battling heavy fog, the dramatic reports of this and reaction of the women build the show to a terrific climax - but all turns out right in the end.
