Synopsis: | In 1928 D. H. Lawrence is a very ill man. As he presents the personalities and events which shaped his early years, a portrait emerges of a man able to view his life with a mixture of pathos and good humour not the serious persona implied in his writings nor the puritan sage of his biographers. At odds with his background and education, Lawrence was a man of song with a gift for mimicry and story-telling, who challenged the sexual traditions of his generation in works such as Lady Chatterley's Lover and Women in Love. Powerful, literary and moving, this is a colourful portrayal of an extraordinary artist at full throttle! | |||||
