Monkey - Journey To The West

Synopsis:
Our story follows Monkey, hatched from a stone egg and endowed with the secrets of immortality. This mischievous trickster can fly through the air, ride on clouds, become invisible and transform himself into other shapes. Together with his master, the young monk Tripitaka and two other animal spirit disciples. Pigsy and Sandy, he journeys from China to India under instruction from Buddha and Kuan-Yin to fetch the holy scriptures to save a world descending into chaos. The pilgrims encounter many dragons, bandits and demons along the way in an adventure that is often hilarious, frequently dangerous and ultimately enlightening.

Notes:
written by Andrew Blackman, Petra Kalive. A popular classical Chinese folk novel written by Wu Ch'eng-en (1500 -1582). Monkey, Journey to the West combines Chinese fables, legends and popular beliefs with superstitions, monster stories and Buddhist teachings.
