Synopsis:
Revealed in flashes and glimpses, Hooray for Hollywood weaves together the mediums of tabletop puppetry and shadow puppetry, alongside shadowy performers whose faces are never seen. an animated set frames the view in a filmic style. Based on a true story, this stark yet sensitive tale is set within the child pornography industry. It is shown from the child's vantage point. a recorded soundscape provides the setting for each of the scenes, while live experimental violin music evokes the internal states of the children. Hooray for Hollywood is a show for adult theatre audiences, created to raise awareness and encourage discussion about a challenging social issue.
