Julia Jordan is a Juilliard Playwright Fellow, a Manhattan Theater Club Fellow and a member of New Dramatists and the Dramatists Guild. She holds an M.Phil. in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin and teaches advanced playwriting at Barnard. Her play TaTJaNa IN COLOR won The Francesca Primus Prize and was short-listed for the Susan Smith Blackburn award. Other plays include ST. SCaRLET, BOY and SUMMER OF THE SWaNS, a play for children. all four were produced in New York during the 2003-2004 season. Other works for children include GUITaR and WaLK TWO MOONS, as well as the book to the musical SaRaH,PLaIN aND TaLL which won a Kleban award and an aTT Onstage award. She is currently working on the book of a new musical, EVER aFTER, to be directed by Doug Hughes. Her short film THE HaT, which she wrote and directed, premiered at the Sundance Festival and was the most played short shown on IFC in 2001-2002.

Boy

Synopsis:
a seventeen-year-old boy with a gift for storytelling comes from rural Iowa to the Twin Cities in search of a new home and start in life. Unbeknownst to them, he has idealized and seized on an educated family through an internet correspondence with their son. He seduces each in turn, with his stories. One of which is horrific and true.

Dark Yellow

Synopsis:
In a rural place, a murder in a cornfield gradually becomes the focus of an unusual encounter between a local woman and a stranger she meets at the small town bar. as they engage in a bedroom game of questions, wordplay, and sexual intrigue, both strive for a connection while identities and motives remain hidden. Testing the boundaries of trust and intimacy, they struggle with their instincts toward suspicion and self-preservation.
