Synopsis: The 1970s. Northern Ireland. Pat and Mary Gormley are an ill-matched couple: Pat is a laid-back publican, a storyteller and musician, whereas Mary is determinedly upwardly mobile, nagging at their children to succeed and moving the family away from the pub as soon as she can. Looking back thirty years later, their daughter Kathleen tries to piece together the family's story so that she can understand what drove it apart; in doing so, she uncovers an important family secret

Synopsis: The bulk of the show takes place in a cab driven by Mackers, a nice, single, fortysomething guy without much else to do on Christmas Eve than pick up a few fares. It is a great comic conceit: the six additional cast members swap between characters at high speed, and a bit of fun is had when the cracks show and one actor or the other doesn't quite make it to their next mark on time. The assortment of folk Mackers picks up give us a slice of local life: the husband stuck in the pub on the way home from picking up the turkey, the family of women tearing each other up on their way to a do, and Mackers's buddy, who is masquerading as Santa and peddling contraband vodka from his sack.

Synopsis: Hollywood comes to rural Ireland , where the locals are hired as extras in a romantic, cliche ridden "Oirish" epic set at the turn of the century. The Kerrymen's delight over the lashings of free food and 40 quid a day for doing virtually nothing gradually turns to resentment, however, of this patronising new form of US imperialism. And the mood turns downright ugly when a troubled teenager commits suicide and it looks as though the film bosses will prevent the locals from attending his funeral.
