Cat worked as a prison advisor on two series of PRISONER'S WIVES (Tiger Aspect/BBC). Her TV writing credits include DOCTORS, WATERLOO ROAD (Shed/BBC), YOUNGERS 2 (Big Talk) for which she also wrote a music track, TATAU (Touchpaper/BBC). Cat also wrote FLEA, one of three original short films commissioned for BBC iPlayer. Cat is currently writing on APOCALYPSE SLOUGH (Working Title/Sky). Cat also has a number of original projects in development including two projects for BBC Inhouse, one of which is based on an idea by Idris Elba. In 2011, Cat won the BBC Alfred Bradley Award for Radio Drama with GLORY DAZED, which she subsequently adapted for the stage. GLORY DAZED was produced at Edinburgh Fringe Fest 2012 as part of the Old Vic New Voices season, winning the Holden Street Theatre Award, which took the production to Adelaide for 5 weeks in 2013, where it won the Critics Choice Award, after which it transferred to Soho Theatre Upstairs. Cat took part in the Old Vics 24 Hour Plays at the end of 2012 and was the winner of the 2013 Pearson Playwright Award. Her play THE NATIVES is being developed by the Old Vic under the TS Eliot Commissions Project. Cat is also adapting STREETDANCE for the stage, for West End producer Adam Spiegel Productions. Her radio play HANG DOG was broadcast on R4 (2013). Cat wrote and co-directed a short film called CUSHY in 2014, which won the Yorkshire Short Film Award at the Leeds International Film Festival.

24 Hour Play!

Synopsis:
A unique platform of new short plays by Britain s brightest emerging theatre makers, entirely created in just 24 hours. For the seventh year running, Old Vic New Voices (OVNV) partner with the 24 Hour Play Company and IdeasTap to discover the next generation of theatrical talent in a grand theatrical experiment like no other. A company of twenty one actors, six writers, six directors and six producers aged between eighteen and thirty will be challenged to create six brand new short plays from scratch in just twenty four hours. From the playwrights' first ideas, to casting, rehearsals, prop sourcing, the lighting design and sound effects, everything must be completed in one day, ready to be staged in front of more than one thousand VIPs and members of the public, on the Old Vic's one hundred and ninety three year old stage.

Glory Dazed

Glory Dazed
A moving and darkly comic story of an Afghanistan veteran's search for redemption, and a fascinating insight into the plight of ex-servicemen in modern Britain. ex-squaddie Ray - mentally scarred from his time in Afghanistan - returns home to Doncaster to attempt to see his kids and reconcile with his ex-wife, Carla - mentally scarred from her marriage to Ray. A pub lock-in provides the setting for the humorous, heart-wrenching action that follows. Glory Dazed won the BBC's Alfred Bradley Bursary Prize 2011. It was developed in collaboration with ex-soldiers serving prison sentences at HMP & YOI Doncaster by Second Shot Productions, a social enterprise that exists to give serving prisoners and ex-offenders opportunities within creative industries.
