Starkers

Synopsis:
Rachel, a farmer's wife who lives in a remote wheatbelt community in Western Australia, takes the highly uncharacteristic step of commissioning a nude portrait of herself as a surprise Christmas present for her husband--in the hope that he may notice her if she is 'on the wall'. While she is sitting for the portrait, various neighbours and members of the local community call in for coffee and there is initially considerable surprise and mirth at Rachel's expense. Gradually, however, the mood changes as the dark secret, known to all except Rachel, threatens to be revealed. 'an auspicious debut by an interesting new playwright.'
