Born in Plymouth, Devon in 1982, Ian Hylands spent time in both the US and the UK as a child, starting to write at the age of 12. Ian Hylands was first published three years later with a review of a collection of Roald Dahl's short stories. Focusing exclusively on theatre/film writing, Ian Hylands was first commissioned by Rayon Productions to write the screen thriller Face to Face and has since written for producers in the US, UK and all over the world. Ian is currently working on an adaptation of "Dracula", an original TV show and his first original play. He resides in the south of England, with his wife, a lecturer and actress, and his son.. Synopsis:

The Count of Monte Cristo tells the timeless story of Edmond Dantes, a young innocent sailor in love and the three men who conspire to falsely imprison him for espionage. Danglarsdevises the wicked scheme to secure promotion over Dantes, Fernand complies to steal Mercedes from Dantes and M. de Villefort, King's prosecutor imprisons the unfortunate young man in an island prison to guard a dark family secret. With Dantes locked up and thought dead, the three men find their problems solved and they ascend to the highest peaks of French society. Unti Edmond Dantes escapes, having spent 20 years with the highly educated Abbe Faria, he has been given an education that money could not buy and now, armed only with a map to the legendary treasure of Monte Cristo and the bitter hatred that 20 years in a cell breeds, he sets off for Paris, to exact a vicious, relentless vengeance, irrespective of the cost.
