Synopsis:
The Count of Monte Cristo tells the timeless story of Edmond Dantes, a young innocent sailor in love and the three men who conspire to falsely imprison him for espionage. Danglarsdevises the wicked scheme to secure promotion over Dantes, Fernand complies to steal Mercedes from Dantes and M. de Villefort, King's prosecutor imprisons the unfortunate young man in an island prison to guard a dark family secret. With Dantes locked up and thought dead, the three men find their problems solved and they ascend to the highest peaks of French society.
