James is a young writer based in Leeds. He has been writing and staging on his own full length plays since school (listed below) and has worked alongside other professional writers such as Bryony Lavery, Chris Thorpe and Clare Duffy, all of whom have reviewed and helped develop his own work. He tends to write comedies with an ultimately serious twist. In the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe his comedy Poets' Corner received 4-star reviews and was selected by the austro-British society to receive a fully funded trip to austria in November. there it was performed in a 220 seat professional Theatre in central Innsbruck and James led workshops in the community about the play and its characters. In 2008 James was part of a team of five writers for a feature film shot in 2009. It was funded by the Cooperative BYFa to be screened next year and released on small production DVD's. Currently James is working on the final drafts of etchings that will be performed in Leeds in February, developing a new script for the Edinburgh Fringe next year and working on a new film for the BYFA.

Clint's Reality

Synopsis:
Clint is a media icon disgraced for rigging his reality TV shows. In one evening he has to save his marriage, put his career on track, silence his mistress and discipline his wayward son. expect rushed decisions, hushed revisions and blushed derisions in a world that's anything but real. Vanity, insanity and pastry combine in a fast paced 21st century farce.

Etchings

Synopsis:
alone in a basement in his deceased parent's house sits arthur a self styled artist perfecting his talent that he believes will one day storm the art world. But for now he paints in anonymity, cut off from the world. This is until he is contacting by an old friend from University. She finds his destination distressing, and wants to help him. She has moved on since they knew each other and has married a rising boxing champion. To give his career a boost she sends him to get painted by arthur. But can such a man be forced out of self imposed captivity? a play about a man who wanted everything and got nothing against a man who wanted nothing and got it all.

Eyes On the Box

Synopsis:
Big Brother meets Greek Mythology. 8 housemates enter the House under the watchful eye of the Oracle to be led down predetermined paths that make them live out the legends of 8 Greek myths. Destiny and fate is controlled to have stories of comedy and tragedy shown to the millions of viewers. Just keep your eyes on that box in the corner.

Poets' Corner

Synopsis:
In a quiet corner of Westminster abbey Oscar Wilde and Lord Byron sit talk and drink together awaiting the start of an extraordinary annual party hosted by the abbey's famous poetic dead residents. Until the arrival of an unexpected guest. She claims to be a poet and, impossibly, she claims to be alive. Flashbacks of her life show a new writer struggling with a domineering marriage and the pressures of modern literary fame. as the memories become more vivid realities begin to collide and when the spectral party draws to its opening she is faced with the realisation that the immortality of a writer may mean more than just their words.
