John-Michael was born in Melbourne but lived for 17 years in Los angeles. He is now back in Melbourne and lives with partner alfie. He started work as a junior reporter on the "Sunraysia Daily and then got a part on a children's television programme "adventure Island" and also wrote the scripts. Whilst in Los angeles he reported for the Australian programme "Good Morning Australia" and became well known for his flamboyant style and catty remarks. His first musical was "Shout" followed by "Dusty"
