Karen has worked in theater for over 30 years. Her first professional experience was at the age of 12 at the NJ Shakespeare Festival. Aside from her many stage appearances, she has been in television shows and in national commercials and documentaries. Her credits as a director for youth are extensive, as is her resume as a writer. Karen authored several plays performed by the Academy Theater in Atlanta, Georgia and was a finalist in the Maxim Mazumdar New Play Competition. She has had her work read by NJ Playwrights, produced at Stage Door Players in Dunwoody, Georgia and presented at Theater in the Square's Alley Theater. She was featured twice in the Academy's Three Plays in May series and a winner of Jersey Voices. She has written two musicals, several one acts, five children's shows and 4 full length plays. She also wrote numerous TV programs and documentaries for educational television, and she has had articles published throughout the world. Karen received a degree in Philosophy from the College of William and Mary and is currently working towards an MFA at UC Riverside.
