Synopsis: | This show is a modern retelling of the supernatural ballad, the story of a soldier son's supernatural return to his mother for one last night together. In the musical storytelling theatre style which has become Quondam Theatre's hallmark, this timeless situation of a mother and son fighting to say the things they always meant to say will be one of the highlights of the season at Bowhill. As Karen, a feisty 40 something, fights to keep truths from her ghostly wayward son, they relive moments from his childhood, including favourite Border stories such as The Wizard's Apprentice and Thomas the Rhymer. Told in different performance styles with music and song, the show will enthrall, delight and ultimately lift the spirits. | |||||
