Synopsis: Curtains unfolds backstage at Bostons Colonial Theatre in 1959, where a new musical could be a Broadway smash, were it not for the presence of its talent-free leading lady. When the hapless star dies on opening night during her curtain call, Lieutenant Frank Cioffi arrives on the scene to conduct an investigation. But the lure of the theatre proves irresistible and after an unexpected romance blooms for the stage-struck detective, he finds himself just as drawn toward making the show a hit as he is in solving the murder.

Synopsis: The future and it is now too dangerous to go out during daylight hours because of the depleted ozone layer. A group of feral teenagers live in the basement of their old High School. They try to make sense of what life used to be like but only have a couple of magazines and some advertising leaflets. They discover a paperback edition of "Hamlet" but it only has eight pages left in it. Then they discover a video recording of Lawrence Oliver's version that has been recorded from television. They do not realise it but whoever recorded it kept flipping channels so the recording has bits of other programmes, weather forecasts and adverts. From this they try to piece together a performance of the play.
