        Dead Fish

Dead Fish

Synopsis:
Dead Fish, a discerning contemporary comedy, follows five young adults as they navigate their ever-evolving relationships and familial Drama. Rachael Holder's lucid, episodic style reveals their individual journeys as they grow up out of their 20s/30s into their own skin. Set in present-day Brooklyn, we are immediately introduced to Zoe (35) and Harris (25), a Guyanese-American brother and sister whose parents have passed away. Halie (19), their cousin from Florida who ran away from home, has shown up at Harris's apartment unbeknown to the entire family - including Zoe. Zoe lives with Jack (35), a Jewish-American, who underneath his biting sarcasm and apparent lack of motivation remains devoted to Zoe throughout her many tribulations with her brother. as Harris falls in love with Halie (yes, his cousin, Halie), Jack tests Zoe's patience and tenacity when his desire to quit his steady restaurant job coincides with Zoe's announcement that she's pregnant. as with all relationships, Harris and Halie move from lust to whatever-the-next-step-after-lust-is with awkward and painful episodes including Harris's unfortunate habit of killing Halie's fish.
