Immediately, the occupants of the apartment building descend upon him: Diane, an Irish woman who wishes she were simply American; her half-brother Nick, a simple American who wishes he was from Ireland, and has fashioned himself into a thick-brogued, slang-spewing gangster; Christopher, a twelve year old boy who predicts the end of the world is nigh but swears he's not a prophet; Omari, a blind, Rastafarian doctor who has waited his whole life to have his sight restored; and alex, a man dying of bone-marrow cancer who thinks he knows the secret to life.
