Jane's journey into 'Amateur Dramatics' began in 1979 when she joined the 'West Moors Drama Society' in Dorset. She has appeared in over fifty productions as well as directing and producing,When the society were having problems finding a suitable play in 2004 she decided to turn her hand to playwriting&having only written stories for her children before&. She submitted her newly written play to the play reading circle anonymously&. Much to her delight it was well received and only when the decision was made to present it as their next production did she own up to the identity of the author! It played to packed audiences every night! Inspired with success she went on to write more full length plays, several one acts plus sketches, she is still writing for the society. Her play 'The Boobytrap' was read and reviewed recently by the 'Garrick Theatre' in Australia &. She was very pleased with the response and they are considering it for a future production which encouraged her to submit the play for publication. She loves every aspect of the theatre and as a strong supporter of local drama groups has written articles for her local magazines extolling the virtues of Amateur Theatre.
