Synopsis: | Barry Henderson went for the b-tech approach - a prop-box with strawberries, a waistcoat, two wee plastic figures and not much else - for what emerged as a bittersweet slice of twenty-something life, interwoven with classes in charm (the rules and uses of) and commentaries or three Edward Hopper paintings. A recurring movement sequence like his asides on the (unseen) paintings, gradually related to solitary people he reckoned were, like him, lonely. . . Only Henderson himself seemed so effortlessly charming - likeable, funny, a real adroit and self-possessed performer - that it's hard to imagine him beset by loneliness. Maybe he's just a very good actor, whatever the context. | |||||
