Michael Helland's first full-evening length performance work, The Dress Up Show, forms the basis for a shared artistic experience between audience member and performer alike. The evening features a walk-through live-art installation where audience members receive fantasy makeovers using over 75 interchangeable costume combinations. Facilitated by performance hosts, the fantasy makeovers segue into episodic performance events on the second floor of the theater. Layering the happenings of a social dance party with contemporary dance performance, The Dress Up Show activates the performer inside all of us.
