Notes: | part of Emerging Identities: Bodies on the Line. Actor-writer-educator-advocate Cornelius Jones, Jr. will co-produce a new one-play festival in association with New York University's Gallatin School for Individualized Study. These works deal with identity through connecting personal experiences to political issues that affect people of color in the United States. Dealing with US/Mexico border culture and politics, black male fatherhood, and masculinity/sexuality in performance, these performances ask the question, what happens when you put your body on the line?
Synopsis: | an autobiographical solo performance piece about the search for father(hood) and identity in a world where growing up black, male, and without a father is a hindrance. An emotional journey using music, movement, multimedia, and text to explore ideas of the self and searching for love, manhood, and blackness.
